Just wondering if anyone uses the Kadee couplers on there rolling stock or engines. For the people who do are the easy to install and I guess you would need the gauge piece to get the correct high. Thanks for any input good or bad.

Wyatt,
I will be interested in this discussion. I probably will not install any, just because of time and expense to install and i have a lot to do on my layout yet. But it will be interesting to hear the input of club members.
By the way, I found the train show in Norcross yesterday to be pretty good. There seemed to be some new vendors there. I got an Atlas wood-sided reefer for $45. I also picked up a few autos for $5.95 each. Next week's Galaria show is suppose to be even bigger. Just might have to go.

Yes Rick I was thinking it would be interesting to see what I hear from members on the Kadee couplers myself. Thanks for the update on the show and yes I might try the show next week end. I have never gone to that one so it will be a first for me. If you go what time do you think you will be there?

Wyatt,
I am not sure when I might be going yet. Cookie works this weekend so she can't go. If I make a decision, I'll let you know. If you go to the website for that show, it has a list of some of the vendors posted.

OK thanks Rick I will check it out. I am trying to get more people on this site so we can have more good input. Are you going to be at the Hobby Town layout this week?

OK I missed the last couple ones so I am shooting for Tuesday or Thursday this week. Hay did you see Eric video on the new Lionel GE engine on ORG forum? It is outstanding and maybe he might bring it to a club meeting and run in on the layout.:) Maybe he will put the link over here as well.

I did a video tutorial on installing kadee couplers on O-scale freight cars. It's a 4 part video. Here are the links:

All I can say is OUTSTANDING videos. Your videos are just awesome and with your detail instruction I can really understand how to do the project. Thank you very much.

My impression is that body mounted, i.e. Kaydee, couplers limit the min. diam. curves that can be used. That's why the 2 rail scale guys use 72" rad. and we use 72" diam. curves. Even with regular couplers I have a branch line on my layout with tight curves, < 27"diam., that I need to be careful what I run up that line.
