I am wondering how this show coming up at the Cobb Civic Center is different from the most recent event that was at the Civic Center. I have heard it described as a "swap meet". Does this mean that it is primarily local TCA members selling their wares or can I expect many of the same vendors that I saw at the last event. Cookie is finally free for one of these shows and we would like to attend, but we were not quite sure what we were going to see. Can anyone give us a better insight? Thanks.

The TCA has moved into the Civic Center for this show, a much larger arena for them then in the past. They are expecting record attendence. So far, 100 tables have been rented. Lionel has promised to be there with their new "Visions" demonstration.
Unlike the Piedmont Division that has held shows in the Civic Center in the past, the TCA is heavy on O-Gauge and S-Gauge trains versus the Piedmont Club which is heavy on HO equipment. When you say 'local' TCA members, yes there will be local TCA members, local usually includes: Georgia, Alabama, Flordia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Also, Legacy Station will attend for the first time.
Should be a great event.

Great. Thanks Ted. I take it that we might see you there then at some time of the day. I am eager for Cookie to see the variety at the show.... it will be her first. Sounds like fun.

Rick:
Thanks for asking what this meet was all about. I had also been wondering if it was worth attending and Ted's response to you helped me make my mind up. Max and I will be there tomorrow.

Curt, hope to see you guys there. Heck, it is the first of the month. I might have a little money to spend. Just a little though.... my daughter's brake cylinder went out and my car AC is on the blink. Hmmmmm..... maybe I had better not go to this train show. :(

Talk about beginner's luck. Cookie was no more than 5 minutes in the door of this event and she won a door prize. Added another box car to the collection.

Max, it is a Santa Fe box car, but I know why Cookie picked it out amongst her choices....color. This box car is a bright orange with a silver roof. It really did not matter the road name. It was the color that caught her eye. Besides being into railroading, she is also onto scrapbooking and color is very important.
