I was not able to go due to some medical issues but would like to hear and see any pictures of forum people who found some new equipment for there layout today at the Norcross train show. Also was there good attendance?

Wyatt, it was a pretty good turnout today. There were a lot people with kids, so our layout was constant activity. We also had quite a few members show up and many made purchases. I know of at least two post-war ZW's that members carried out and I saw other boxes hauled under arms too. For me, I bought two vehicles that will go on the layout: 1) a 1923 Maxim C1 Fire Engine (a Yat Ming Signature Series production) that will sit at the fire house I have yet to build and 2) a 1934 BB-157 Utility Pick-up Truck with boxes of fresh fruit and vegetables (a Limited Edition by The Ink Well) both 1:43 scale. I'll try to get pictures as soon as possible.

Although I couldn't find any trains I just had to have, I did find a few NS and PRR stuff. I bought an NS mousepad ($6) and t-shirt ($12). Then I bought a poster($10). There's a story behind the poster by the way.

Here it is:

Alright, so Mr. Rick (the one who posted) and I went over and started looking at the posters. The man had lots of good ones that I really wanted. I narrowed my favorites down to three. Then down to two. I still couldn't decide on which one to buy. Well, Mr. Rick pulls out a quarter and says, "heads for this one, tails you get that one. Heads it is." I walked over to the man to buy it and he said that I've been deciding which one to buy long enough and that I can go pick out another one for free.

I ended up spending $28 in all and bought four things. Good day for me.

As promised, here are a couple of pictures of the purchases I made today on the layout, The Cloverdale Farms truck has found a home, but the fire truck will eventually go into a fire house that is yet to be built.

Good looking fire truck !!!! Wish I'd known about the Train Swap, I'd a been there (after my massive track-switches purchase for Christmas layout, I'd have to sneek it past my wife though)

Speaking of posters, I don't have any train posters but did buy an "original" antique (c1958) poster of the United States Lines, SS United States, the most amazing ocean liner ever built. It could go over 50 mph. Anyway the poster's a beauty but unfortunately, the ship is rotting at a pier in Philly -- probably going to be scrapped.

I'm working on the video of my Christmas layout....should be done soon. Will be at Bill's house on Thursday

WOW Max and Rick nice finds.

Max the poster with the NS black unit is outstanding.:)

Rick now that is a great truck and as you can see that truck will look good doing any job on your layout.

Rich I know the feeling about getting thing by the wife. although mine is into trains but sometimes we do not see exactly the same on some engines.:( But I am looking forward to your video of the Christmas layout.

It sure is nice to see people posting on the forum. I look forward to reading and learning from this forum. Never to old to learn in my book.:D

Looks great Mr. Rick! Now all you need is a pair of NS engines like the ones on my mousepad.

Are the five NS engines you have the Black and white scheme?

Hmmmmmmm.... Wyatt, Max has a wonderful mouse pad and some great pictures, even a neat calendar or two, but if he actually has a dealer appreciation MTH Executive ABA F7 set from the MTH 2003 catalog, he and I will be talking!!!!! (let alone 5 of them!) He could have sold his extra four by now and been a rich young man.

That is a set that many have coveted for some time now. I was not even back into the hobby when those came out, so I missed them. They are beautiful. One day they just might be available again.

I know those sets are just about impossible to get and I am right there with you. If he has 4 extra sets I would take out a FHA loan to get one. I figured he must be pulling my leg :D

Someone is engaging in just a bit of leg pulling here. Junior (aka Max) has one NS engine in his collection and it is a WBB GP-38.

To answer your original question though Wyatt, I picked up two Lionel 8000 gallon tank cars for very nice prices and a book on the Seaboard Air Line Railroad. And I'll apologize in advance for the anguish my choice in books might cause you. :)

Nice on the book and the tank car. And junior is having fun and that is good :D. But those ABA units are outstanding and for the lucky ones that have them congrats.:)

sorry about the late reply. I bought one of the zw's and also a couple of box cars from Mr. Louis. Also found a slightly put together double atlas truss bridge cheap. all in all a good show. Thanks to Ted for helping me find a good zw.
